How to Sync Your Lyrics on Spotify, Apple Music, and Instagram

Ever wondered how some songs have lyrics that scroll perfectly in time on Spotify or appear as stickers on Instagram Stories?

One platform powers it all: Musixmatch.

If you add synced lyrics to Musixmatch, they automatically flow to Spotify, Apple Music, Instagram, Tidal, Amazon Music, and Google — everywhere at once. One upload. All platforms.

Here's how to do it in five simple steps.

Step 1: Create a Musixmatch Artist Account

Go to musixmatch.com and sign up.

Once signed in, click "For Artists""Join Now". Choose your role (Artist, Manager, etc.) and fill in your details.

Step 2: Add Your Artist Profile

Musixmatch will ask you to add your artist info:

  • Your artist name (exactly as it appears on Spotify and Apple Music)
  • Your Spotify artist profile link
  • Your Apple Music artist profile link

Click Add. Musixmatch will review your request. Verification usually takes about 48 hours.

Step 3: Find Your Song

Once verified, log in and open your artist catalog. Search for the song you want to add lyrics to and click on it.

If you don't see your song yet, wait 24–72 hours after your release goes live. It needs time to appear in Musixmatch's catalog.

Step 4: Add the Lyrics

Click Edit and type your lyrics in.

Tip: Don't copy from another lyrics site. Type them out fresh while listening to the song — it keeps them accurate.

Step 5: Sync the Lyrics

Click Sync.

Musixmatch will play your song and ask you to tap each line as it's sung. This is what makes the lyrics scroll in real-time on Spotify and Apple Music.

Take your time. Tap accurately. Once done, click Save.

What Happens Next

Musixmatch reviews your synced lyrics. Once approved, your lyrics go live automatically on:

  • Spotify (synced, scrolling in real-time)
  • Apple Music (synced)
  • Instagram Stories (as music stickers fans can add to their stories)
  • Tidal, Amazon Music, Google, and more

This usually takes 48 to 72 hours after approval.

Quick Tips

  • Get verified first. Lyrics added without verification may not sync to Spotify or Apple Music properly.
  • One song at a time. Sync each track separately for best accuracy.
  • Check your lyrics for typos. Once published, bad lyrics live across every platform at once.

One Last Thing

Lyrics are how fans sing along. They're how a song becomes a moment at a concert. They're how a lyric goes viral on Instagram.

Don't leave your lyrics blank on the platforms where your fans live.

Sync them once. They show up everywhere.

And if you hit any trouble — message SongDis support. We'll walk you through it.
