Afrobeats lives here. Amapiano lives here. Highlife, hip-hop, drill, R&B — the African diaspora discovers new music on Audiomack before most other platforms even know it exists. Millions of listeners across Lagos, Accra, Nairobi, and beyond open this app every single day looking for the next sound.
If your music is already on Audiomack through SongDis, your profile is there too. But it's empty. Unclaimed. A placeholder waiting for you.
Claiming it takes one DM. Here's how to do it right.
Three things:
One important rule: Only the artist can claim the profile. Managers, labels, and reps can't do this on your behalf. Audiomack needs to hear from you directly.
Before we go further, it helps to know what you're working toward. Audiomack has three levels:
1. Claimed profile — You own your page. You can update your photo, bio, socials, and upload directly. This is what we're doing today.
2. Authenticated (grey check) — Audiomack has confirmed you're a serious, real creator. Unlocks the Creator Dashboard and better algorithm visibility. You apply for this after claiming.
3. Verified (orange check) — Reserved for established artists. This is not something you apply for. Audiomack's editorial team awards it based on performance and cultural impact.
Most people confuse "claimed" with "verified." They're not the same. Start with the claim. The rest comes later.
Open the Audiomack app or go to audiomack.com on your browser.
Search for your artist name. Find the profile that matches your SongDis releases — the one with your songs on it. Tap it.
Copy the URL. It'll look something like this:
https://audiomack.com/your-artist-name
Save it somewhere you can paste from in the next step.
This is the part that surprises people. Audiomack doesn't run the claim process through a form or a portal. They do it through Instagram DM.
Open Instagram. Search: @audiomackartist
Make sure you're sending the DM from your official artist Instagram account—the one with your artist name, your photos, and your music content. Not a personal account. Not a fan page.
Your DM needs to include exactly these four things:
Here's a clean template you can copy, fill in, and send:
Hi Audiomack team,
I'd like to claim my artist profile. Here are my details:
- Profile URL: [paste your Audiomack URL]
- Most recent release: [song or EP title]
- Email for the account: [your email address]
Thanks.
Short. Clear. No fluff. That's what they need.
Audiomack reviews your request manually. Response times vary — usually a few days to a week.
When they approve, they'll send a custom claim code to the email address you gave them. Check your inbox. Check spam too, just in case.
Open the email from Audiomack. It'll have your claim code and a link to complete the process.
Done. Your profile is now yours.
Once you've claimed, head to the app store and download the Audiomack Creator App (separate from the regular Audiomack listener app).
This is your mission control. From here you can:
Once your profile is claimed and set up properly, the next move is authentication — the grey check.
To qualify, your profile must have:
When you've hit those three requirements, apply here: audiomack.com/world/post/audiomack-for-creators-authentication
Authenticated artists get better algorithmic visibility, access to the full Creator Dashboard, and become eligible for the Audiomack Monetization Program (AMP) — which means you can start earning from your plays directly on Audiomack.
Audiomack usually doesn't ask for screenshots at the claim stage — your Instagram account and distributor name are enough. But if they do follow up asking for more proof, send:
Don't send:
Crop tightly. Clear is better than big.
Wait a full week. If still nothing, send a gentle follow-up DM with the same four details. Don't send multiple DMs in a row — it slows things down, not speeds them up.
Make sure you're messaging from an Instagram account that's at least a few days old and has content on it. Brand new, empty Instagram accounts sometimes get flagged by Instagram's DM filters.
This happens when an ex-manager, old label, or someone with a similar artist name claimed it first. DM @audiomackartist with:
Your release may not have fully propagated yet. SongDis delivery to Audiomack usually takes 24 to 72 hours after your release goes live. Wait, then search again.
Audiomack is one of the most important platforms for African music in the world. The people on it are not casual listeners—they're the ones who break new sounds. The ones who make songs go viral across the continent before the world catches up.
Your profile on Audiomack is your front door to that audience. Don't leave it locked.
Claim it. Set it up. Get authenticated. Start showing up where your fans already are.
And if you hit any trouble—message SongDis support. We'll walk through it with you.
