SongDis distributes your music to YouTube Music and registers your recordings with YouTube Content ID to help you earn from videos that use your music on YouTube.
YouTube Music Distribution
Your music will be available on YouTube Music (a premium streaming service) as well as the Art Track system, where an auto-generated video is created for your track using your cover artwork. These Art Track videos appear on YouTube when users search for your music.
YouTube Content ID
YouTube Content ID is a system that automatically detects when your registered music is used in videos uploaded to YouTube. When a match is found, you can:
- Monetise — Place ads on the video and earn a share of ad revenue
- Track — Monitor where your music is being used
- Block — Remove videos using your music without permission
SongDis registers your music with Content ID as part of our distribution service. Once registered, it may take 2–4 weeks for Content ID to begin identifying your music in videos.
How to Claim Your YouTube Channel
To verify your YouTube presence and access YouTube for Artists, visit artists.youtube.com and follow the verification process.
Content ID Claims on Your Own Videos
If Content ID claims your own videos (for music you distribute through SongDis), this can happen if multiple parties have registered the same recording. Contact our support team to whitelist your official channels so you don't receive claims on your own content.
Rights Disputes
If someone files a claim on your music that you believe is incorrect, you can dispute the claim through YouTube Studio. Contact our support team if you need assistance resolving a Content ID dispute.
