Full Upload Guide (Every Field Explained)

This guide explains every field in the SongDis upload form so you can submit releases confidently and avoid common errors.

Release Information

Release Title — The official name of your release. Must match the title on your artwork exactly. Do not include artist names or "Single/EP/Album" in the title field.

Release Type — Choose Single (1–3 tracks), EP (4–6 tracks), or Album (7+ tracks).

Primary Artist — The main artist name as it should appear on all DSPs.

Featured Artists — Any featured artists. Do not include "feat." in the artist field — use the designated featured artist field.

Release Date — The date your release goes live. Allow at least 7 business days for review and distribution. For major campaigns, submit 3 weeks early.

Original Release Date — Only fill this in if you are re-releasing previously released music. Leave blank for new releases.

Genre and Metadata

Primary Genre — Select the most accurate genre. This affects editorial pitching and playlist placement.

Secondary Genre — Optional. Add a secondary genre if applicable.

Language — Select the language of your lyrics. Instrumental tracks select "Zxx – No linguistic content".

Explicit Content — Mark your release as explicit if it contains profanity, adult content, or explicit themes.

Rights and Codes

UPC — A unique barcode for your release. SongDis can generate one for free, or you can enter your own existing UPC.

ISRC (per track) — A unique code per track. SongDis generates these automatically, or you can enter existing codes from a previous distributor to preserve stream history.

Copyright Holder (℗ and ©) — Enter the sound recording copyright (℗) holder for the master, and the composition copyright (©) holder for publishing. Typically: "2024 Your Name" or "2024 Your Label Name".

Audio Files

Format — WAV or FLAC preferred. Minimum 16-bit, 44.1 kHz.

Track Order — For EPs and albums, order your tracks correctly as they should appear on DSPs.

Track Titles — Enter the exact title for each track. No mixing cases (e.g., do not type "track 1" when the title is "Track 1").

Artwork

Cover Art — Minimum 3000x3000 pixels, JPEG or PNG, sRGB color. Must not contain DSP logos, URLs, or misleading content.
